What information do I need to create a family tree?
You can start with what you know. Names, birthdates, relationships, and locations are key. We also suggest photos and documents for a richer experience.
Can I upload photos and documents?
Yes! You can upload a wide variety of files to bring your family story to life, including photos, scans of certificates, family letters, old passports, birth or marriage records, school documents, immigration papers, handwritten recipes, audio recordings, videos, journals, notarized documents, and more.
Starter Plan: Limited storage. Premium Plan: Expanded storage for all your family memories, documents, and media.
Is my information safe on My Native Tree?
Absolutely. We use industry-standard, bank-grade encryption to protect your data. Your information is never shared with third parties without your explicit permission.
Who can see my family tree and other information?
You have complete control over who sees your information. You can choose to:
Make your entire tree private: Only you and invited members with specific permissions can access it.
Share individual branches with designated family members or friends.
Choose specific photos to be publicly viewable (without identifying information).
Can I control who can edit or add information to my tree?
Yes! You can set individual permissions for each family member you invite. Choose who can:
View only: See the tree but do not make changes.
Contribute: Add information and photos within designated branches.
Manage: Make edits and changes to the entire tree.
Can I collaborate with family members on building the tree?
Definitely! You can invite loved ones to build the tree with you. Starter Plan: Invite 1 real person. Premium Plan: Invite up to 5 real people.
Can I add stories and notes to my family tree?
Of course! You can capture family history with personal stories, and memories.
Can I search for specific ancestors or relatives?
Yes, you can quickly search and find anyone in your tree.
Is there a free version of My Native Tree?
Yes. Our Starter Plan is free and perfect for trying things out. It includes:
A family tree of up to 6 people

What devices can I use My Native Tree on?
You can access My Native Tree from any web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.
What happens if I forget my password?
Just click “Forgot Password” on the login page, enter your email, and we will send a reset link.
What happens to my data if I cancel my account?
Before canceling, you can download your entire family tree (including photos and documents). After cancellation, your data is securely deleted from our servers.
Do you offer customer support?

Can I export my family tree data?
